ReplyDeleteI feel okay right now. but i don't think i am fully prepared to do it yet. I think i still need time to learn things
i feel the laptops will widen our range of learning because we are able to do more research and are open to more information. the laptops will help with our organization and with our technology skills. they may also hurt us because some of us are not very good with technology and things are a little more confusing for us.
ReplyDeleteThe good aspects of the laptops is we get to do our work and communicate with the teacher when we need help. It lets us no whats up ahead because the teachers send out emails ahead of time. The bad aspects are that students cant pay attention to there work because they are to busy playing on the computer.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I do not think that I am prepared for the social studies graduation test. The test is going to be composed of alot of information about the world. I am currently taking world hitory therefore I am still learning some of the material that is on the social studies graduation test.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I do not think that I am ready for the Social Studies graduation test, because there is still a lot to learn and the graduation test is so close. However, I think that I might be ready by the time it gets here.

ReplyDeleteHow prepared do I feel for the Graduation Test?!?...hmh.....lets see....I'm not prepared much at all. Social Studies is my weakest area so I feel like this is the area that I need to focus more on for the Graduation Test. One thing I can do though is take this class serious and learn as much as I can in this short period of time.
B. I think that the laptops will have good and bad aspects. They will allow us to research sooner, and not have to wait for one of the carts. However many students will abuse this. Also, some students don't have laptops at the moment. What will those students do until they decide what to do?

ReplyDeleteThe laptops seem like a very valuable resource for all of our students to learn. For someone like me, Its a great option to be able to type and organize all of my notes in contrast to sorting through a pile of papers lost in my book bag. I also hate keeping up with a pile of bricks in my bag (books). Its so much simpler to use electronic books so that I can resist the urge to doodle on my pages, and be able to open up a simple application.
However, some students aren't able to handle the responsibility of keeping up with their new technology. We won't be able to keep students on task when the lure of you tube is only a click away. When report cards come in this semester, teachers will have to deal with the furry of overbearing parents.They will ask why their child's grades are so poor and the only person to blame will be the student. Once everyone is able to accept this responsibility, we will be able to move into the new age of learning.

ReplyDeleteIf I were to take the test right now, I don't think I would exceed. I don't think I am full ready to take the test right now. I think I still need a lot more time and knowledge to take it.

ReplyDeleteIts a great resource for us to have laptops. We can search thinks faster than the blink of an eye. Some positive things that could benefit from the laptops is search information, talk to our teachers in private(via email), and easy way to submit work. Some of the downfalls to having computer access in class is that we could be realllllllll off task. I mean come on now, we all email friends while the teacher is talking, there is a webcam installed in our computer, and we can listen to music to ignore the teacher, I honestly don't like having the computers in class, because i know im going to be off task!
I enjoy having the laptops and i think it will prepare us for many things. The laptops help us by being able to communicate with teachers or class mates on the assignments that were assigned and easier to submit our class/homework.It is really easy to get off task by traveling off our assignment surfing the web. The teachers get mad when they catch students off task on other things except the assignment that they are givin but it feels like its just there and you can go and do what you want to as long as you are doing your assignment. The only thing I dont care for about the computers are some of the rules and it keeps me off task.

ReplyDeleteI think the laptops will make it easier for us to do PowerPoints and research whenever we may need to. The postive aspects are that we can get in touch with our teachers more easily, we can get notes or handouts from them and review them whenever we may need them. Some negative aspects are people are abusing the privelage of having them by being on YouTube or other sites. They are a distraction as well as a help. Many people aren't paying attention in class because they are doing something else on their computers. PLus we can't access some programs at home. But with all positives come negatives and we're going to have to learn what all we can and can't do on the laptops! :)
I think that having a laptop is a big waste of time ,and something extra that I have to learn about how to do. A pos. statement about the laptop is we get to use them in class. Something neg. about the laptop is; that it's not helping me learn at all and it's always freezing.

ReplyDeleteI think the laptops will help us as students this year because we can use the internet and programs to help us find answers. A positive thing about having the laptops is that we won't have to use paper and pencil on a daily basis. A negative thing about having the laptops is the connection and other technical problems.
i think laptops are going to be an essential part of our lives in and out of school since we will use them even after we graduate from high school. some postives are that we dont have to carry books around which only casues strains on our backs. a negative is that the system sometimes isnt that efficient

I dont have mine yet but I know it will widen our ability to gain knowledge when studying or researching a specific topic on the internet

ReplyDeleteSo far this laptop has been a . How do you think the laptop will help you in huge help to me and all of my classmates in my classes.When were using pencil and paper,I would sometimes fail to get the right answer,but with the laptops now,I can assure myself that I get the right one.
There are many,many positive outcomes that we can achieve through using the laptops.To me the laptops actually brodened our horizions,but there can also be negative aspects that come with using these.The biggest negative problem is the blue screen and the bad internet connections.
the way i feel about the social studies part of the graduation test is that i need i little bit more work in it. the way i can do this is to study more and take lots of notes
ReplyDeleteHonestly,i feel as though the computers will be a hinderance! Look at where it has gotten us this far! Everyone is doing something besides their work. And as far the social studies part of the ghsgt; im not very good in social studies and that is NOT my strong suit as you can tell

Also, they can help you talk to your teacher in private if you are afraid to speak with them about something out loud. You can also communicate with your peers about stuff you know or don't know. The negative of the laptops are that they will allow you to become unfocused because you can get on websites that are not school related.

ReplyDeletei think the labtops are a great use because now we can do research on our work to help us out instead of just going to the book and look for information and also its easier to send your teacher the work instead of just turning the work in to them therefore you cant believe nobody for losing it or it been stolen or what not and the ways its negative because most students dont get their work done they be on other websutes instead of doing what they need to do
I believe that i am as prepared as a student can be for the history part of graduation text. My teachers have well prepared me for it and i understood the information very well. I think to better prepare us even more the teachers should maybe give us a heads up on what they think might be on the test so we will know what to study the hardest in.

ReplyDeleteB. I think that I'm pretty well prepared for it. I'm really good at Social Studies. One way I could prepare for the test is to just keep going over everything like maps, geography, wars & stuff like that. I think I'll do pretty good.
ReplyDeleteB. Having laptops for this school year will be a great thing, it will help all students do their PBL projects on time and suceeding in them, the negative thing about it is that sometimes students might be disconcentrated of their school work.

ReplyDeleteFEEL THAT IM A LITTLE PREPARED FOR THE GRADUATION TEST. ALTHOUGHT I KNOW THAT FOR ME TO PREPARED FOR IT I HAVE TO STUDY AND PAY ATTENTION SOME MORE.SOCIAL STUDY ALWAYS BEEN MY LEAST FAVORITE SUBJECT BUT IM WILLIN TO DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO PASS THE GRADUATION TEST.
A~ I feel somewhat prepared for the SS part of the Graduation Test. I have learned a a lot of information and I have also refreshed my memory on some topics that I didn't remember as strongly as I should have remembered. But, I think that there are some things that are helping me be more prepared and then there are things that are like yield signs and I just sometimes don't have time to stop and look and actually finish those tasks. I think that the Question/Vocabulary of the Days are really helping me. The part that helps me the most with this is that I type in key words on the internet about the question if I don't know it and then I have to read the information about it and that's what helping me learn the information about it. Reading something helps me to better remember it. My "yield signs" are the benchmarks and blogs. I am so busy with the project(s) or study guide that I am not able to complete the task on time. I think to better prepare myself for the Graduation test i will just take a couple of days out of the week and do benchmarks for part of the class.
ReplyDeleteB~ I think that the laptops are going to help us this year because if we have a specific question we can just type it on the internet and then we will have our answer automatically. I believe that using the computer will gives us computer skills and that a way we are experiences with them for the future because now a days, computers are used at almost every job. So, to be able to have the opportunity to learn how to use them and to be able to feel like a matured young adult. I feel that the positive things about the laptop is the fact that we are learning responsibility by having them and keeping up with them. I think being able to learn with them is another positive thing. Having answers just a search engine away is great! But there aren't always positive things when it comes to the laptops. A lot of negative things come out of having a laptop at any age. A lot of people take advantage of the laptop and use it as their personal device. This is school property and the board watches everything people do. So, for the people that know how to get on things that are inappropriate and something that they KNOW they shouldn't be on, it is just bad. I think that giving teenagers laptops was and wasn't a good idea at all. For some, it's a tool or resource to learning, but to others, it's a way to "explore" things they shouldn't. Those are my opinions on the questions.
I think that I am prepared for this portion of the graduation test because of the mini projects. And because of the group activities that we are doing.
