Blog topic: You've been in World History for three months. Do you feel better prepared for the graduation test in SS? If yes, what has helped- benchmarks, class projects, Question and Word of the day? If no, what do you need help with?
Honestly, i feel alot more prepared for the graduation test in SS, more than any subject. I learned most of everything from all the class projects we have done, and the Question and Word of the day. The way we get in depth with the class projects gives me a better understanding of the subjects we cover. I never really got into history, but this class has gotten me involved and got me to want to do my work. If i took the graduation test right now, i think i would pass it without a problem.

Well i am not a great test taker anyways. I have heard the SS portion is the hardest part. I believe if I focus and study that I will be able to pass it. I would like alot more practice on the benchmarks and doing the class projects. I enjoy this class and enjoy doing the majority of the projects that we have done. Its a better way to learn and thats how most people like learning.

ReplyDeleteI feel that I am better prepared after being in world history. I have honestly learned a lot from the USA test prep, and the various projects we are assigned. The word of the day also helps me, because we go over each of the questions after answering it. Now, I will be able to have confidence in taking the history portion of the Graduation Test.
ReplyDeleteWe have been in World History for three months and I feel more prepared than I did before, however, I still feel that I have some more to learn for the graduation test. The benchmarks, games, and projects have helped me prepare for the test in the process. However, the test is in March so how will I prepare next semester when I'm not in this class? I will look back at the benchmarks that we have taken and review the questions and answers to help refresh my memories. Out of all of the work we do to prepare us for the test I think that the questions of the say and vocabulary of the day help the most since they are actual questions from the graduation test if I am not mistaken. The benchmarks allows us time to review old information as well as learn new information in the process. The projects are hard but it allows us to think and connect things that we know to get to what we need to know. Therefore, I feel that I am a little prepared for the test but I still have to continue what I am doing now to be more prepared for the test in March.

ReplyDeleteI do feel very prepared for the Social Studies portion of the Graudation Test. Even though history covers a wide variety of event including everything from the beginning of time until now. We have to know all of this. That's a ton of information and a lot of dates, places, and events to keep straight. I already know that the Social Studies portion will probably be the most difficult because there are so many things we should've learned, but I feel like I know the majority of the information mainly because of the Question and Words of the Day. I believe those have helped out tremendously. Those give me an idea of what to expect on the Graduation Test. It allows us to reseaerch the information on our own and come up with a conclusion to what we think the answer may be. The benchmarks would be a HUGE help, BUT they are extremely HARD!! Even when we can use any sources, they're really difficult and if they Graduaction Test has those kind of questions, I may need to be worried. But I hope they're going to be a little bit easier. They benchmarks prepare us for the worst to expect on the graducation test.
ReplyDeleteTo be truly honest I feel that it has prepared me in some way because you have given us a lot of questions for our bell ringer that may be on the test. I think that is a good thing. The projects that you are given us are also preparing us for the test also. I truly believe that SS part of the graduation test is still going to be hard because I would have to remember everything that I've learned this semester, for next semester when i take the test. Also the benchmarks you are given us to do are another way it’s preparing us for it. Therefore if I was to take the SS graduation test today I would do an okay job on it.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSS! I feel so much more prepared for the social studies graduation test! I think what has prepared me most for it is the Question and Word of the day. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! It gives me a wide variety of everything we are supposed to learn!:)
ReplyDeleteSiendo honesto no e aprendido muncho estos 3 meses, pero creo que todo modos si voy a estar preparado para el examen de estudios sociales, espero que sace una buena calification en el exam con las preguntas del dia y las definitiones. Translate: Being honest I haven't learn much in the pas 3 months, but I do think that I'll be able to take the graduation test of Social Studies with minor problems, and the definitions and question of the day contribute to know this subject.

ReplyDeleteYes, I feel much more prepared for the SS graduation test, The daily questions and word of the days we do, for some reason I remember more than anything. Also, the fact I've started paying attention alot better in class and working more efficiently, has helped lol :P
ReplyDeleteyes i do feel prepared for the ss graduation test.the questions of the day are more helpful to me than the benchmark to be honest. We get more of a understanding with the questions of the day than the benchmark.
ReplyDeleteI think I will do well on the SS part on the graduation test even though I heard it was hard. I feel that the games, projects, and bellwork has helped me because Mrs.Copeland helps us to understand it. We also have vocabulary to help us to understand. We learn in many ways in this class.
ReplyDeleteI do feel better prepared for the Social Studies graduation test. I feel that the words and questions of the day help me alot. The benchmarks help some but they aren't as helpful as the question of the day. The questions of the day are also on the benchmark tests.

ReplyDeleteI feel much more prepared for the test. I despise the benchmarks, and they haven't helped much. I just look them up and forget them the next day. The projects and Questions of the day's have helped me the most.
I am not the best test taker in the world but I can take them to where I can pass them.I have learned alot in this class and yes I think it did help me prepair myself for the Graduation test.I really liked the open note test that we take because I excell on those type of test since were able to use our notes and I'm a good test taker.The vocabulary has helped me out a good bit aswell.
ReplyDeletei think i am prepared for the test. i owe a lot of this to the word and question of the day and some of the benchmarks. when we do these questions it causes for us to search for the answers. when i search for the answers i find out more. at the beginning of the year from how things were going, i didn't think that i would ever learn anything. as we got along in the semester, i started learning more and more and actually paying attention to the questions of the day and the benchmarks.

ReplyDeleteI feel better getting ready for the graduation test now. I believe everything is helping such as test, benchmark, and questions of the day. The questions of the day is helping me better b/c it seems like will probaly see some questions that's similar to the ones on the graduation test...
ReplyDeleteI do feel better prepared for the SS graduation test because the project based learning actually helps me. it helps me in the sense that i have to look up the information and remember them for the day i have to present and take a test, benchmarks haven’t really helped me because i don’t learn anything out of it sense i just take the test and fail. Although, the questions and the word of the days also helps me out because i look up the answer to the question or it helps me remember things in the past i had already learned. i also think i am better prepared because i have a current issues class that helps me better understand history in a broader sense so therefore, i am better prepared for the test,
ReplyDeleteYes I feel like I am totally prepared for the test. We have been taught many new things at once but going through all of the preparation, it has given me reasurance that I know the material. All of the benchmarks, QOD's, and projects have given me all the information I need to know.

ReplyDeleteI feel alot more prepared for the test. All of the projects and study guides have helped me learn alot more about history. There is so much information and detail that goes into the projects that you can't help but have to read through it and once that's over with you've learned more about that topic. I feel like after doing these projects I know alot more than I did before. They are well-preparing me for the test.
ReplyDeleteNo i dont feel prepared for the Graduation test. Since school started i feel that i haven't learned anything. All that pbl has done for me is create alot of busy work for me that i have to do within a short period of time. I haven't had time to comprehend/learn anything cause i been to busy trying to finish up all these tiering projects. on top of that these laptops play a huge distraction role in my learning environment which is pulling me even further from learning. Usa test prep may have helped me learn a little but not much. Things that I need help with is world history, U.S. history, and american government. The only thing that I think i'm ok with is geography.

ReplyDeletei think I'm doing alright in this class rite now. even though its a lot to take in every week. for these past 3 months i been trying to stay on task and do my work its just these blogs and benchmarks that are messing up my grade.

ReplyDeleteI do feel a lot more prepared for the Graduation Test. I think that the benchmarks are the ones that have helped me the most, because I have been able to see what some of the questions look like, and I have been able to research the questions. Also the benchmarks really help, because some of the benchmarks contain some of the same questions and after you do them for a while you remember them, and you become more interested in doing it. Also, I think that the projects have helped some, but not as much as I had first expected it too.Also, eventhough I think that I am more prepared now than I was before, does not mean that I am ready to take the test now. I think I could use a few more weeks of studying and doing benchmarks before the test comes.
ReplyDeleteI think that I am somewhat prepared for the SS part on the graduation test. I think that the Question and Word of the Days are helping and so are the projects. But the thing that is holding me back from getting the highest grade that I know i can get is that the length of the projects and the amount of work for the projects and the study guides also are taking all my time up in class. I end up not getting to the benchmark and blog. I think that there should be a time extension date for the benchmark and the blog to be done on or maybe even like a part of the class be dedicated to only the benchmark or blog. That would help me have the time to actually sit there and learn the material on there and then i will be more prepared on the topic. The benchmarks and blogs are messing up my grade and it's not my fault I don't have internet at my house so i can't go home and do it then. So, school is my only option and when i get in class i have to start on Question/Vocabulary of the Day so it is difficult for me to have it completed and I'm afraid that because of the time restraint I am not going to be as prepared for the SS part of the Graduation Test as i should or want to be. So, for me I just need help with timing and getting everything done and turned in on time.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about this topic. I feel that the benchmarks have helped me while the projects have not really helped me at all. If i was to take the social studies portion GHSGT right now I feel as though I would barely pass. If you to send us the benchmark throughout second semester then I would be better prepared!
ReplyDeleteI feel alot better taken the graduation test then before.I think that the word of the day don't help me as much because i go to MGTC.So I don't have time do the word of the day.As we started out with the Projects i wasn't to happy with them because it was a little to much. Now the projects have became a good study way for me to get prepared for the graduation test.Benchmarks is the best way because most of the question on there are going to be on the graduation test.Some of the questions that be on the benchmarks are repeated questions so most of then i remember from the last benchmark.I wouldn't say that im a 100% ready at this moment,but the few months we have left i woild be prepared by then.

ReplyDeleteI dnt feel prepared for the Graduation test. I really dnt think im been learning the school year. PBl is the problem for me and stoppin me from learning. I need help in all studies of history, but im good in american history. These laptops is a big distraction to my work.

I think that this is because I have to read the question, look for the answer, and if it is question of the day, I get to see why the other questions are wrong. I think while I am not the best prepared I can be, I am closer to being there.

ReplyDeleteI feel better prepared for the test. The class projects really have you get deep in to information and you read about a lot of the details on the subject. Before this class i really didn't have much knowledge on some of the things we did projects on. I thought the Mayans where around the time of the Aztec, one of the things i didn't know about. Like i said, id have to say the projects have really helped to better prepare me for these tests

I feel as if i'm prepared for the social studies part but then again i'm not but i know i will be fully prepared by the time i take it. I have faith in myself that i can learn more materials & get use to it. Everything i have done in my world history class help me for example, bellwork , benchmark, projects , etc....

i fell confident and everything in this class bhas helped but most of all the projects cause when we are doing them you come across alot of info you didnt know and that info may be the diff between passing and not passing.

ReplyDeleteit has helped me bacause now i fell more confident on the tests because thanks to the tests and benchmarks i learn alot of stuff and that makes me more confident and makes me believe that iam going to pass this class.
